Paris Part I
I have a feeling it will take me a while to put up Paris photos. I have so many. The city is beautiful (although the subway from the train station did not leave a good impression). Our train from Amsterdam to Paris actually got delayed for two hours because there was a minor strike in Brussels (wtf?? Every time I use the train system in Europe some country goes on strike for a few hours). Though...

Photoblog- Amsterdam
I have to say-scrolling through my photos of Amsterdam, they’re not too exciting. I was feeling more than a little exhausted at this point, and I also didn’t know how kindly the red-light district took to cameras. We stayed in a little apartment, up the steepest stairs I have ever seen, with a view of a canal near the Amherst. What I learned: 1. Dutch is a hideous language. o.m.g. ...

hygge lygge - days 3-4
I know that that looks like gibberish up there but it’s not. Hygge is this special danish-only concept of “coziness”. TheĀ  Danish declaration of independence would probably read “…pursuit of life, liberty and coziness.” One of the many strange things I have learned about this country. But who can argue really? (except when I do want to go back and remember why I really did hate so-and-so so much, which girl was the girl not to be trusted, or who had...

The Garden Party
We had our annual Spring Event fundraiser on Saturday evening. After 2 months of hard work, it’s finally over. I think I did a nice job matching the invitations to the look of the party. The invites, RSVP cards and envelopes. (Obviously there is more information in the inside that is not as interesting to include in this post). Printed on natural white linen paper, while donor lists...

definitions
My computer at work goes to “word of the day” dictionary definitions when the screen saver starts up, and today’s word just happened to be liberal. Just reading this definition, it’s hard for me to see how anyone could be against any of the things “liberal” stands for. This also goes with my theory that, if you were to look at any super hero villain, or movie...

Pigs are flying!!!
“Our military wanted to go in there and just scorch the earth…but President Obama single-handedly understood what was at stake here. He alone understood the need to get DNA to prove the death…it was President Obama single-handedly and alone who came up with the strategy that brought about the effective assassination of Osama bin Laden,” he said, adding, “thank God...
